From 1998 to 2004, Buck Lindelof developed his volleyball skills with the prestigious Santa Barbara Volleyball Club under the mentorship of Olympic gold medalist Todd Rodgers. As team captain in 2004, he led his squad to the Junior Olympics in Austin, Texas, showcasing his leadership and competitive drive.

At Santa Barbara High School, Buck progressed from JV to varsity, becoming the team captain and starting setter in his senior year. Under his leadership, the team achieved an undefeated Channel League season and advanced to the CIF championship finals. His outstanding performance earned him multiple honors, including League MVP, Best Volleyball Athlete in Santa Barbara County, and selection to the CIF 1st Team.

After high school, Buck pursued his passion for film, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Film Production from the University of Southern California. However, his love for volleyball brought him back to the sport in 2008 when he began coaching as an assistant varsity coach at Webb High School in Claremont, CA.

Buck’s coaching career expanded with a season at Alliance Volleyball Club in Nashville, TN, before returning to California where he coached at Reef Volleyball Club from 2015 to 2020. Under his guidance, the 12s team achieved their best-ever finish, placing 17th in the competitive Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA), followed by the 13s team matching that historic milestone.

Since 2016, Buck has co-led the Oaks Christian Middle School volleyball program alongside his wife, Katie, capturing multiple league championships. In 2021, he coached the 14s-1 team at Sports Academy Volleyball Club, guiding them to a 13th-place finish in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), a top 5 Premier finish, and fifth place in the Patriot Division at the Junior Olympics.

Buck also spent four years coaching at Sunshine Volleyball Club before returning to Reef, where his teams have consistently ranked among the top in the SCVA.

His coaching philosophy centers on the process over the outcome, believing that focusing on daily improvement leads to greater and faster success. Buck thrives on witnessing the transformation and growth of his teams throughout each season.
