Brendan Keane began his volleyball journey at age 12, progressing through the club ranks at Spectrum VBC until the 18s level. During his time with Spectrum, Brendan competed in six Junior Olympics and earned All-Tournament honors for his outstanding play. As the starting libero for Oak Park High School from 2006 to 2008, he earned 2nd Team All-Conference recognition in both 2007 and 2008, led his team to a league championship in 2008, and helped secure CIF Runner-Up finishes in 2006 and 2008.
Brendan continued his athletic career at Moorpark College from 2009 to 2010, where he ranked second in the state for digs. His leadership and performance contributed to Moorpark’s two consecutive second-place league finishes and culminated in a State Championship victory in 2010.
He furthered his education at Arizona State University, earning a degree in Finance in 2013. That same year, Brendan transitioned into coaching, starting as an assistant coach for the boys’ 14s and 15s teams at Spectrum VBC before taking the helm of the girls’ 16s team at Oaks VBC.
Brendan’s high school coaching career includes tenures at Oak Park, Camarillo High School, and a five-year stint at Agoura High School. Currently, he serves as the Head Varsity Coach at Westlake High School, a position he has held for three years. Brendan is now in his seventh season coaching with Reef Volleyball Club, where he brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to developing the next generation of athletes.
