Coach Brendan Keane brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to Reef Volleyball Club, along with a passion for developing athletes and helping them reach their full potential.
Brendan began his volleyball journey at age 12, progressing through the club ranks at Spectrum Volleyball Club through the 18s level. During his club career, he competed in six USA Volleyball Junior National Championships and earned All-Tournament Team honors for his outstanding play.
As the starting libero for Oak Park High School from 2006 to 2008, Brendan earned Second Team All-Conference honors in both 2007 and 2008, helped lead his team to a League Championship in 2008, and was a member of two CIF Runner-Up teams in 2006 and 2008.
Brendan continued his playing career at Moorpark College, where he ranked second in California in digs while helping lead the Raiders to consecutive second-place league finishes and a California State Championship in 2010. He later earned his degree in Finance from Arizona State University.
Brendan began his coaching career in 2013 as an assistant coach for the boys’ 14s and 15s teams at Spectrum Volleyball Club before taking over the girls’ 16s team at Oaks Volleyball Club.
His high school coaching experience includes stops at Oak Park High School, Camarillo High School, and Agoura High School. He currently serves as the Head Varsity Coach at Westlake High School, where he has led the program for the past four seasons.
Now entering his 10th season with Reef Volleyball Club, Brendan continues to bring a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the program. During the 2025–2026 club season, his 16 National team earned a Bronze Medal at the Far Western National Qualifier and concluded the season by capturing the Gold Medal at the SCSN Championships, showcasing the team’s continued growth and success throughout the year.
Coach Brendan is committed to developing fundamentally sound athletes through hard work, accountability, and attention to detail. He emphasizes technical excellence, teamwork, and a competitive environment that challenges athletes to grow both on and off the court. His passion for teaching the game and developing confident, disciplined players has made him an invaluable member of the Reef coaching staff.
