Ben is a Moorpark native and an accomplished volleyball coach whose extensive playing experience and passion for athlete development have made him a valued member of the Reef Volleyball Club coaching staff. With nearly 30 years of experience in the sport, Ben brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and a competitive mindset to every team he coaches.
A standout Middle Blocker at Moorpark High School, Ben was a four-year varsity starter, team captain, League Champion, and First Team All-League selection. His outstanding high school career established him as one of the area’s top players and earned him the opportunity to compete at the NCAA Division I level.
Ben continued his volleyball career at the University of California, Irvine, where he competed as a starting Middle Blocker for one of the nation’s top Division I volleyball programs. His success on the court also led to his selection to the U.S. Men’s Junior National Volleyball Team, an honor reserved for many of the country’s top young athletes and a testament to his talent, work ethic, and dedication to the game.
Following his collegiate volleyball career, Ben graduated from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and built a successful career as an attorney. While pursuing his legal career, he remained passionate about volleyball and continues to give back to the sport by mentoring and developing the next generation of athletes.
Now entering his fourth season with Reef Volleyball Club, Ben is committed to helping players develop strong fundamentals, confidence, and a competitive mindset. His elite playing experience, leadership, and passion for teaching make him an invaluable member of the Reef coaching staff.
Ben is married to Erika, a fellow former NCAA Division I volleyball player and Reef coach, and together they are the proud parents of three children: Payton, Ethan, and Tristan.
