Brock Redmond is the Founder and Club Director of Reef Volleyball Club, with more than 25 years of coaching experience at the club, high school, and collegiate levels. Since founding Reef in 2001, he has led Ventura County’s longest-standing volleyball club, helping thousands of athletes achieve their goals, compete at the highest levels of the sport, and earn opportunities to play collegiate volleyball. His vision, commitment to excellence, and unwavering dedication to athletes and their families have established Reef as one of Southern California’s most respected volleyball clubs. Brock is known not only for his deep knowledge of the game but also for his exceptional ability to build successful programs and cohesive teams from the ground up. He believes the strongest teams are built through discipline, trust, preparation, and intelligent execution—not simply talent alone.

Brock’s strategic mindset and calm, analytical approach to the game set him apart. He has a rare ability to analyze matches in real time and make quick, effective adjustments that consistently give his teams a competitive edge. He has an exceptional talent for identifying each athlete’s strengths, putting players in positions where they can be most successful, and building cohesive teams that consistently perform at their highest level.

Brock began his volleyball journey at Thousand Oaks High School under Coach Tom Black, currently the Head Coach at the University of Georgia and former coach with both the USA and Canadian National Teams. A natural leader, Brock served as team captain throughout high school while earning First Team All-Marmonte League honors before continuing his playing career at Pierce College, where he was again named team captain and helped lead the program to a California State Championship.

After college, Brock transitioned into coaching and founded Reef Volleyball Club in 2001 with a vision of creating a program where athletes could receive elite coaching in an environment built on integrity, accountability, and a genuine sense of family. He also spent three seasons coaching at California Lutheran University, serving as the program’s first assistant coach before stepping in as Interim Head Coach. During his time there, he coached under Greg Gibbons, currently the Head Coach at the University of the Pacific.

Throughout his coaching career, Brock has coached at several respected local programs, including Thousand Oaks High School, Oak Park High School, Westlake High School, Newbury Park High School, Oaks Christian School, and Agoura High School. For the past 19 years, he has led the girls indoor, boys indoor, and beach volleyball programs at Agoura High School.

Brock’s accomplishments have earned him numerous coaching honors, including six Marmonte League Coach of the Year awards, multiple High School Coach of the Year honors, and the prestigious 2019 John Crow Coach of the Year Award. His consistent success in developing athletes, building winning programs, and creating cohesive teams has also earned him additional Coach of the Year nominations.

Brock represented Southern California on the international stage after being selected to coach with the SCVA High Performance Program at the Global Challenge in Croatia for six consecutive years, where he coached many of the nation’s top athletes against elite international competition.

Throughout his coaching career, Brock’s teams have earned numerous championship titles and medal-winning finishes, while helping generations of Reef athletes continue their volleyball careers at colleges and universities across the country.

Off the court, Brock is a devoted husband to his wife, Natalie, and proud father of six. When he’s not in the gym, he finds time to tend to their small family farm—raising sheep, pigs, chickens, dogs, and their cat—balancing his competitive drive with a grounded, family-centered lifestyle.
