How long is the indoor club season?

The season length depends on age group and team level:

Girls Teams: The indoor season runs from November through May or June, depending on the team. Select and National teams may compete through June for end-of-season or national tournaments.
Boys Teams:
- 14 and under: The season typically runs September through June or July with no break.
- 15 and older: The season runs September through January, takes a break during the high school season (February–April), then resumes for May through June

What is the cost of the indoor club season?

Reef offers a high-level club volleyball experience at a more accessible price point than many comparable programs in Southern California. Our fees reflect the quality of training, coaching, and competition we provide, while being mindful of the overall cost to families.

Fees vary by age group and team level — younger teams generally have lower costs than older, travel-based teams.

Club tuition includes:

All tournaments

Coach travel (for travel teams)
Equipment costs

Families are responsible for:

Uniforms

Room and board (if applicable)

When are tryouts held for Reef teams?

What levels of teams does Reef offer?

Reef offers four levels of play to fit different skill levels and goals:

National Teams: Our highest level, for athletes committed to elite training and competition. These teams play monthly SoCal tournaments plus multiple national events, with extensive training and personalized college recruiting support.
Select Teams: Competitive teams beyond Regional level, with SoCal tournaments monthly, as well as national events. Training focuses on advanced skills. Recruiting support and resources included.
Regional Teams: Great for players competing beyond local level, training twice weekly and playing in monthly SoCal tournaments plus an end-of-season event. Recruiting support included.
Local Teams: Emphasize skill-building and fundamentals with a lower time and cost commitment. Players train twice a week and compete locally.

Can beginners join Reef volleyball Club teams?

Tournaments & Travel

What should we know about SCSN and SoCal Cup tournaments?

SCSN tournaments and SoCal Cup tournaments typically take place in Orange County. We usually receive the pool play schedule, location, and start times on the Wednesday before the tournament. As soon as we get that information, we’ll email the details to your team.

Teams will be assigned to either an AM or PM pool:

AM pools usually start around 8:00 AM and finish by 2:00 PM
PM pools typically begin at 2:00 or 3:00 PM

Some tournaments include playoff matches after pool play, which may extend the day.

We recommend players bring plenty of water and nutritional snacks to stay fueled throughout the day. We’ll also share any site-specific info such as spectator fees, parking prices, or venue rules when we send out tournament details.

Do all Travel teams attend an end-of-season tournament?

What should we know about travel and end-of-season tournaments?

For travel tournaments, players are generally expected to arrive the day before the first day of competition. Day 1 will have either an AM or PM start time, and match times for Days 2 and 3 will depend on how the team finishes the day before. The final day is typically single elimination.

If you're flying to a tournament, keep in mind that matches can go as late as 5:00–6:00 PM on the final day. While most teams finish by 5:00 PM, we occasionally have teams in the finals that run later. We recommend booking evening flights or traveling the next day to avoid conflicts.

We secure discounted hotel room blocks whenever possible and will share booking details as soon as they’re available. Families may use the room block or book independently, unless the tournament is a “stay-to-play” event, which requires booking through the tournament’s travel partner.

If the tournament is within driving distance, daily commuting is also an option.

What time should I arrive and leave for an out-of-state tournament?
